Legend of Metroidvania: a 2-4 player "roll-and-write"
The Legend of Metroidvania (working title, obviously) is a 2-4 player dungeon crawl where you draw the map one room at a time.
When you enter a room, you draw cards that deal damage for each “!”, but you can spend luck before you draw to possibly prevent it all. If you survive the damage, you can keep one of the drawn cards as a single-use item.
Several rooms on the map are “boss rooms”; if you survive their damage you get a special ability for the rest of the game. Anyone else who reaches that room will get the same special ability.
You’ll need eight sheets of paper, two to four pawns or meeples, and a few dozen blue and red tokens for luck and health.
